Junior Editor – Binding Hook

About Us: Binding Hook is a dynamic web outlet created by the European Cyber Conflict Research Initiative (ECCRI), dedicated to gathering expert insights on digital and emerging technologies and security. We focus on Europe’s role in a global context, featuring opinions and analyses from leading practitioners and researchers.

The Role: We are seeking a Junior Editor to join our editorial team. In this role, you will work closely with other editors to curate and refine content, ensuring that it aligns with our high standards and editorial vision. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 2-3 years of editorial experience who is passionate about the intersection of technology and security.

Key Details:

  • Employment Type: Part-time (0.2 FTE, one day per week)
  • Salary: £26,000-30,000 per annum (full-time equivalent)
  • Location: Remote (with a preference for candidates within the UK or EEA)
  • Start Date: Flexible, depending on candidate availability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the editorial team to select and edit content for publication.
  • Ensure all content meets the editorial standards of Binding Hook.
  • Engage with contributors to refine their submissions and maintain a consistent tone and quality.
  • Assist in the development of editorial guidelines and content strategies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of editorial experience, preferably in digital media or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong editing and writing skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Attributes: Proactive, adaptable, and passionate about emerging technologies and security issues.
